- The lawsuit between José Manuel Figueroa and Ana Bárbara continues.
- Joan Sebastian’s son fights the singer.
- He says that he is going to recover Fruta Prohibida, which he says belongs to him.
Is the dispute about to come to an end? The singer-songwriter José Manuel Figueroa, son of the late Joan Sebastian, is suing singer and songwriter Ana Bárbara and he says that he is going to recover Fruta Prohibida, which has been in dispute for several months.
It should be remembered that José Manuel shared some videos on Instagram where he hinted that this song was composed by him, although it was recorded by Altagracia Ugalde Mota, better known as Ana Bárbara. In 2001, he supposedly wrote this song while they were dating, but Ana registered it as her own three years later.
What does José Manuel Figueroa have in store for Ana Bárbara?

Interviewed upon arrival at the Guadalajara International Airport in Jalisco, Mexico, José Manuel Figueroa told the media that Ana Bárbara stated that she would take legal action over the Fruta Prohibida issue. The singer was asked if he had already been notified.
“On the contrary, I am moving my pieces. I have every intention of recovering my songs… I have always said good things about her, find one interview where I have said something bad about her, go ahead,” said the son of Joan Sebastian, remained calm in front of reporters.
Does José Manuel Figueroa regret having dedicated this song to Ana Bárbara?

“Those who know me and who have met me and I have had the fortune to share a romance or I have tried to make someone fall in love with me, it’s very clear, that perhaps stupidly, ignorantly, excitedly, I compose songs, and before recording them, I send them to the woman who I am in love with,” said José Manuel Figueroa, who is already somewhat annoyed by this lawsuit involving Ana Bárbara.
He also said that Fruta Prohibida and other songs are a «gift from the soul». He even wrote several songs for the actress and former Venezuelan beauty queen, Alicia Machado. (CLICK TO WATCH THE VIDEO HERE)
José Manuel Figueroa avoids being provoked

In a recent interview, Ana Bárbara commented, «How sad that people who don’t have success on the radio and who don’t have a consolidated career hang on to my fame.» José Manuel Figueroa responded: “I believe in the public, I believe in my work, I believe in my talent, I believe in what my father taught me and in what I learned as a producer and as a musician.”
«And I want to stress it, I have learned to make a living from this because not only did I learn 30 years ago that my career began, no, since I was born I have sung my father’s songs and I will continue to sing because since I was born I eat the songs of my father and my father’s music,” said José Manuel.
The origin of the problem

“I have never said it’s not (Ana’s), it will always be hers. I composed it with a lot of love and very much in love at the time. The only thing I want to recover is the recognition for the work,” he told Venga la Alegría last May.
In another interview he gave to the TV y Novelas, José Manuel said that he and Ana Bárbara had a very nice relationship and he hoped they would be more cordial after the breakup. However the situation about to the song has become more antagonistic between them and now he wants the public to know the true story: “I thought that Ana Bárbara was going to reconsider and understand the situation,” he said, according to El Universal.
